Take your AOD expertise beyond traditional settings and support people at a critical point in their lives. Deliver therapeutic AOD support across Mildura through a flexible, outreach-based model.

Your new role:

Anglicare Victoria is launching a new statewide Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) service supporting participants involved in Victoria’s therapeutic court programs, including the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) and Court Integrated Services Program (CISP). We are seeking an experienced AOD Clinician, delivering specialist AOD interventions across Mildura. This is an opportunity for a clinician who enjoys autonomy, variety and relationship-based practice.

Providing evidence-informed AOD support to people experiencing substance use challenges, mental health concerns and complex life circumstances. You will have the opportunity to build a new way of working combining clinical expertise, outreach practice and therapeutic justice to support people to make meaningful change.

What is ARC and CISP?

ARC and CISP provide support to people involved in the justice system by addressing the underlying challenges that can contribute to ongoing offending, including alcohol and other drug use, mental health concerns, housing instability and social disadvantage. You will work with participants referred through the courts and provide flexible service delivery based on individual circumstances through face-to-face appointments, outreach, telephone and online engagement. This role is suited to clinicians who enjoy working independently, adapting their approach and building strong relationships across different services and communities.

Make Your Mark

  • Deliver evidence-informed AOD interventions
  • Complete comprehensive AOD assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Provide counselling, psychoeducation and brief interventions based on participant needs.
  • Support participants to understand their substance use and develop strategies for recovery.
  • Apply harm minimisation, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented approaches.

Work across courts and communities

  • Provide AOD services across Mildura.
  • Build relationships with court teams, justice partners and community services.
  • Adapt service delivery to meet the needs of the community.

Support people through meaningful change

  • Help participants address the relationship between substance use, wellbeing and offending.
  • Connect participants with broader AOD, mental health, housing and community supports.
  • Support participants through short-term, outcome-focused interventions.

Work with autonomy and professional judgement

  • Manage your own caseload and schedule within a supportive team environment.
  • Use your clinical expertise to determine the most effective way to engage each participant.
  • Contribute ideas and innovation as part of a new statewide service.

About You

  • Confidence engaging people experiencing complex challenges, trauma and disadvantage.
  • Strong assessment, formulation and treatment planning skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across courts, community services and multidisciplinary teams.

What our people say: “There’s a kindness in the way the organisation deals with its people. It still feels like a smaller agency, with that sense that it has amazing influence, which is led from the top, but then there’s this respect between the regions as well. It’s like it’s family, but it's so influential in the industry as well.”
