A fantastic opportunity has opened up for an experienced alterations professional to join our team. We are currently seeking an experienced seamstress to work approximately 25-30 hours per week on site in our boutique in Canberra's Northside. You will need to be available for one evening shift per week and some weekend work with the flexibility to work extra days during peak season or when needed. Working hours will vary based on the individual so some flexibility is available, along with the option of working from home.
The role will see you working hands-on with our clients to attend to their alteration requirements (hemming, strap adjustments, small modifications). To do this, you will need to be well-presented with a friendly manner, have above average communication skills, a flair for fashion and an eye for detail.
The position will suit an enthusiastic, motivated and hard working applicant who has at least one years experience in dressmaking, alterations or garment construction. You will also require an excellent eye for fit and styling. Some previous customer service experience would also be an advantage.
To sum it up, we are looking for someone who loves fashion, is mature, extremely reliable and responsible, friendly and who demonstrates a genuine love for working with clients and the ability and willingness to provide a highly personalised and professional level of service. Qualifications in garment construction, fashion, pattern making and/or other related certified training would be a considerable advantage.
