Andre Building Service is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis in Kiama, NSW 2533. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality construction and carpentry services to our clients. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the building trades industry, and you will contribute directly to the successful completion of residential and commercial projects from conception through to final delivery.
What you’ll be doing
Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and other materials according to specifications and architectural plans
Installing and fitting structural components including wall frames, roof trusses, floors, doors, windows and fitted joinery
Preparing and finishing timber surfaces through sanding, staining, painting and varnishing
Reading and interpreting building plans, specifications and technical drawings
Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete carpentry tasks
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices
What we’re looking for
A recognised carpentry qualification or apprenticeship, with proven experience working as a qualified Carpenter
Proficiency in using both hand tools and power tools safely and accurately
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
Sound understanding of building codes, regulations and health and safety requirements relevant to the construction industry
Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work scheduling and site requirements
Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with other tradespeople and project teams
Experience in residential construction, or renovation projects is highly desirable
