Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Solution Architect with a utilities industry background to lead the migration of CRM data from an SAP-based platform to a SaaS solution. The role will focus on architecting secure, scalable Azure-based migration and integration solutions that support complex utilities customer data domains, regulatory requirements, and customer service operations.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience in Azure and CRM data models, enabling a smooth transition from legacy SAP landscapes to modern SaaS platforms with minimal business disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end Azure architectures to support SAP-to-SaaS data migration in a utilities context.
Data Migration
- Architect migration of utilities CRM data, including customer, account, premise, meter, contract, billing, and interaction data.
- Ensure data models are mapped correctly between SAP, Azure, and SaaS CRM platforms.
- Define reconciliation, validation, and exception-handling processes to support billing accuracy and customer service continuity.
- Design integration between SAP, Azure middleware, and SaaS CRM platforms using API-driven, event-based, or batch patterns.
- Support near‑real‑time integration where required for customer updates and service workflows.
- Work with integration platforms such as SAP CPI, Azure Integration Services, or equivalent tooling.
Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure designs comply with utilities regulatory requirements, including GDPR, data residency, and audit obligations.
- Implement Azure-native security controls:
- RBAC, Managed Identities
- Private Endpoints and Network Security Groups
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- Define governance for data lifecycle management, monitoring, and logging using Azure Monitor and Azure Policy.
Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with utilities business stakeholders, CRM SMEs, SAP teams, SaaS vendors, and Azure engineers.
- Translate business and regulatory needs into clear, practical architecture designs.
- Provide architectural governance throughout build, test, cutover, and post‑migration phases.
- Support SIT, UAT, market or regional cutovers, and production go‑live.
Required Skills & Experience

- Solid understanding of utilities CRM data domains, including:
- Customers and accounts
- Premises and meters
- Contracts, tariffs, and billing-related data
- Customer interactions and service cases
- Experience supporting customer service or billing transformation programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Azure data, integration, and security services.
- Experience with hybrid integration between on-premise SAP environments and Azure (VPN / ExpressRoute).
Professional Experience
- 7+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture or Cloud Architecture roles.
- Experience working in complex, regulated environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
