Our client is a well-established and market leading national civil contractor, looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior / Estimator to join their growing business. They provide services across various industry sectors such as building construction, industrial, mining and resources, transport infrastructure, and environmental.
You will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of challenging projects, including:
- Demolition
- Bulk earthworks
- Excavation
- Retention
- Piling
- Foundations
- Ground improvement
- Soft and hard landscaping
- Site remediation and rehabilitation
Typical project values range from $2.5m to $40m+. Candidates will need strong communication skills as they will be part of the preconstruction team, involved in putting the tender together and participating in tender interviews.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working on tenders
- Coordinating internal and external resources
- Preparation and submission of tenders
- Evaluate/review tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
- Tender negotiations
- Coordinate tender handover to project team
- Prepare budgets based on tender submission
- Assess and price contract variation orders
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
- 5 – 10+ years’ management experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $5m to $20m+
- Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- High level of commercial acumen
- High level of organisation and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
