Melbourne | Major Data Centre Projects | Excellent Salary Package
A client once told me that a good Design Manager can work on just about any building project. Data centres just mean a few more people around the table and a lot more meetings.
I'm sure there's a bit more to it than that, but I understood his point.
I'm recruiting a Design Manager for a leading Melbourne builder delivering major data centre projects.
You do need to have managed the design of large, complex building projects.
Hospitals, commercial towers, laboratories, major industrial buildings.
The type of building isn't as important as the size and complexity of the projects you've delivered.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing the design process from design development through to construction, working closely with consultants, project managers and site teams.
- Coordinating design programmes with construction milestones
- Resolving design, buildability and coordination issues
- Working alongside building services and digital engineering teams
- Making sure the right information gets to site at the right time
About You
- Experience as a Design Manager on major building projects
- Ideally from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 head contractor, although we'd also consider Design Managers from building services, structural engineering or architectural consultancies with strong design management experience
- Strong understanding of design coordination and the construction process
- Comfortable managing consultants and multiple stakeholders
- Able to identify design issues early and work through practical solutions
- A qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar
What's on Offer?
- A well-established builder with a strong project pipeline
- Excellent salary package
- Opportunity to enter the data centre sector without previous experience in it
If you're a good Design Manager who knows how to deliver a complex building project, I'd be interested in having a chat.
