Amazon Operations Australia is experiencing significant growth, and this role will play a key part in supporting the continued expansion of our inbound freight and Sort Centre network. You will join our high-performing AU Operations Finance team, where you will own end-to-end financial reporting and analysis for two critical business units: Inbound Freight (including imports) and Sort Centre operations. This role offers deep, end-to-end visibility into inbound logistics and Sort Centre node-level performance, partnering closely with Operations Leadership, FP&A, and the broader Ops Finance team to drive data-informed decisions.
This position sits at the intersection of finance and operations, where you will build and maintain standardised KPI reporting, cost bridges, and productivity narratives that directly influence capacity planning, cost management, and network design decisions. Your work will give you unparalleled exposure to Amazon's inbound supply chain and Sort Centre operations, positioning you to grow across the broader AU Ops Finance organisation.
Key job responsibilities:
- Generate, analyse and distribute standard KPI reports, cost bridges, and productivity narratives for Inbound Freight and Sort Centre operations that provide actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
- Partner with Inbound Freight and Sort Centre Operations Leadership Teams to ensure reporting accuracy, diving deep into data discrepancies and implementing solutions that maintain the highest standards.
- Proactively identify financial trends, cost drivers, and improvement opportunities across inbound freight lanes and Sort Centre throughput and cost metrics.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams to develop and implement automation, standardisation, and centralisation of Inbound Freight and Sort Centre financial reporting systems and processes.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reviews (MFR/QFR) and weekly business reviews (WBR) with accurate, timely commentary and variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for reporting tools, standard operating procedures, and process workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.
A day in the life: Your day begins by reviewing Sort Centre throughput and Inbound Freight volume and cost data against plan, flagging variances for deep-dive analysis. You'll build and refine KPI reports and cost bridges that explain financial results, then partner with Business Intelligence specialists to enhance report automation. You'll work closely with Sort Centre and Inbound Freight Operations leaders to validate data, investigate anomalies, and translate findings into actionable recommendations - all while contributing to the team's broader push toward AI and BI (Business Intelligence)-enabled finance workflows.
About the team: You will join the AU Operations Finance team, working closely with the AU Finance group. The team supports multiple businesses across Amazon's Australian delivery network - Inbound Freight, Middle Mile, Sort Centres, Delivery Stations, and 3P Transportation - giving members broad exposure to Amazon's logistics operations. We're building an inclusive environment where team members develop comprehensive knowledge across the end-to-end delivery process, with a strong focus on BI and AI adoption within finance operations.

- MBA, or CPA.
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
