Here at Amazon we are currently seeking experienced Area Managers to join the business and play a critical role in leading our team of associates within our Delivery Station in Ravenhall, VIC.
Do you have a passion for motivating, mentoring, and coaching a team? Do you pride yourself on maintaining the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance? As an Area Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining our customer expectations to ensure customer orders are delivered at the right time, to the right location. The hours of the role are Wed - Saturday 01:00 - 11:00.
Key job responsibilities:
- Reviewing and understanding the transportation process from Fulfilment Centres to delivery stations.
- Measure and ensure enough bandwidth in the sortation team to ensure peak time delivery management.
- Assist and work alongside Area Managers to review performance appraisals of the station supervisors and learn how to mentor them for handling efficient operations.
- Continuously improve the throughput and attain a sustained level of delivery performance improvement.
- Review and assist on analysis of the data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve performance.
- Research and review the formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen.
A day in the life: You will be an inspiring leader within our Delivery Stations, where you will work to continuously improve the efficiency of delivery processes, ensuring that customer orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible. Along with your peers, you’ll ensure that all workflows run smoothly and that customer expectations are met, if not exceeded.
Basic qualifications:
- 1+ years of employee and performance management experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
