Occupational Therapist - Paeds, Adult or Hybrid

Make a real difference across the lifespan in North Queensland

Help children, adults, seniors and their families reach their potential. Work alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering life-changing therapy services in one of Australia’s most beautiful regions.

We are on the lookout for a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our Mackay team. Paediatric, adult or a hybrid of both: you choose the caseload that fits your skills and interests, and we build it with you. Clinicians at all levels are welcome, from new graduates to experienced practitioners.

ATS is a registered NDIS provider and delivers allied health services across a range of funding streams, including Medicare, WorkCover QLD, Comcare, NIISQ, private health and as an Associated Provider for aged care. This means you’ll gain broad clinical experience across diverse client groups and funding models, all within a single, well-supported practice.

Why you’ll love working at ATS

  • Established and growing clinic: Join a team of 65+ professionals across North Queensland with a strong reputation built over a decade.

  • Your caseload, your way: Paediatric, adult or hybrid. We match your caseload to your interests and development goals.

  • Genuine multidisciplinary support: Collaborate daily with Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, PBS Practitioners and other Occupational Therapists.

  • Professional development that’s real: Structured individual clinical supervision, dedicated manager support, group training (lunch and learns with the whole team, plus discipline-specific monthly meetings) and an individual professional development allowance.

  • Support at every career stage: New graduates receive close supervision and a structured caseload build. Experienced clinicians get room to lead, mentor and specialise.

  • Work-life balance: Flexible working arrangements, including a 9 day fortnight.

  • Meaningful caseload: Primarily NDIS clients, with Medicare, aged care, WorkCover, NIISQ and private health work, and a focus on quality over volume.

About the role

As an Occupational Therapist in our Mackay clinic, you’ll deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy services to children, adults, seniors and their families, carers and support networks. You’ll work in clinic, at home, in schools and early learning settings, in the community and via telehealth, depending on client needs.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, for example:

    • Paediatric: developmental, sensory processing, fine motor, self-care and school readiness assessments

    • Adult: functional capacity assessments, home and living assessments, home modifications and assistive technology

  • Developing individualised therapy plans, goals and evidence-based intervention strategies in collaboration with families and support networks

  • Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy intervention across clinic, home, school, community and telehealth settings

  • Writing clear, timely reports within company timeframes

  • Collaborating with parents, carers, educators, support workers and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each person

  • Contributing to the development of specialist resources, training and information programs for families, schools and support agencies

  • Maintaining accurate client records and documentation in line with NDIS Practice Standards, AHPRA requirements and company procedures

At least 70% of your calendar time will be dedicated to client-facing, billable service delivery.
