Allied Health Assistant | Mackay Casual | Support Services Level 5

Bring your skills in helping people learn, participate and build independence into allied health.

At Alliance Clinics, we’re looking for an Allied Health Assistant to support children and adults across a varied caseload.

You might already be a qualified AHA, have another suitable allied health background, or be a current or former teacher aide or early childhood educator looking for a change. Your ability to connect with people, adapt activities and encourage progress could make you a great fit.

The Role

You’ll work under the delegation and supervision of our Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Accredited Practising Dietitians and Physiotherapists.

You’ll help participants put their therapy plans into practice through activities that support communication, everyday skills, movement, nutrition and independence.

Your role will include:

  • Delivering individualised therapy activities prescribed by clinicians.
  • Adapting resources and activities within the clinician’s guidance.
  • Building rapport and helping participants stay engaged.
  • Recording sessions and sharing progress, observations and concerns with supervising clinicians.
  • Preparing resources and clinical spaces.

You’ll have clear clinical direction, with tasks and supervision matched to your training, skills and experience.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • A multidisciplinary team. Work alongside physios, dietitians, speech pathologists and occupational therapists. We share skills, celebrate wins and enjoy working together.
  • Roster options. Four-day work weeks or eight-day fortnights can be discussed.
  • Variety and growth. A varied, complex caseload with a team that supports your learning.
  • Time together. Regular socials, tuckshops and parties.
  • Staff discounts. Enjoy 25–50% off at participating Townsville venues.
  • An established, recognised business. Winners of Best Major Enterprise at the 140th Townsville Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
  • Systems that support your work. We’re quality certified and take being well-organised seriously.
  • Admin support. An admin crew that helps keep things running so you can focus on participants.
  • Thoughtful clinical spaces. Modern, well-designed environments that feel comfortable and look professional.

About You

You’re down-to-earth, collaborative and comfortable having meaningful conversations. You care about person-centred support and helping people have a say in their care.

You’re patient, practical and willing to learn. You can follow a therapy plan, contribute useful observations and recognise when to ask for guidance.

What You’ll Need

  • A Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance, another suitable allied health background, or relevant experience as a teacher aide or early childhood educator.
  • Clear communication, basic digital skills and accurate record keeping.
  • First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Blue Card, police check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
