  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10-40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Complex Engineering Problems β€” Craft advanced, multi-step challenges across domains like FEA (Finite Element Analysis), heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics to push AI to its limits.
  • Author Ground-Truth Solutions β€” Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning β€” clear, accurate, and built to engineering standards.
  • Audit AI Reasoning β€” Evaluate AI-generated outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic derivations, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with standards such as ASME and ISO.
  • Refine AI Thinking β€” Identify and document logical errors in AI reasoning β€” from incorrect force distributions to energy conservation violations β€” and provide structured feedback that directly improves model performance.

Who You Are

  • Advanced degree (Master's pursuing or completed, or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Strong domain knowledge in one or more of: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes
  • Analytical communicator β€” able to translate complex physical phenomena into clear, precise written explanations
  • Detail-oriented β€” rigorous when checking mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints
  • No prior AI experience required β€” your engineering expertise is what matters

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or technical review workflows
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS
  • Background in research, academia, or technical writing
