Join an Australian manufacturer that has been building in Australia for 60 years! Alford Hydraulics & Engineering is looking for an additional team member to join our manufacturing plant in Dubbo, NSW. As Australia’s oldest and longest-standing hydraulic cylinder manufacturer, Alford is proudly committed to Australian manufacturing — and to keeping Dubbo at the heart of what we do.
This is a permanent, full-time position for the right person, working indoors at our factory in Douglas Mawson Drive with a friendly, experienced and dedicated team focused on quality, workmanship and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing:
- Cut required metals for cylinder components (using both Everising CNC saw and band saw).
- Safely manage the daily movements of the steel store using overhead cranes, and other material handling devices.
- Perform basic quality checks on delivered and cut materials.
- Additional duties with the Assembly and Test teams as required (on-the-job training is provided).
- Accurately and efficiently cut job lots, or one-off pieces, with minimal waste/offcuts.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Overtime hours available from time to time.
About you:
- A mechanical trade or background is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a similar industry would be highly regarded.
- Physically fit and able to safely manage heavy loads (using lifting equipment provided).
- Forklift licence preferred, however support in obtaining a licence may be offered.
- Overhead crane experience (preferred, however training will be provided).
- Innovative thinker, in touch with modern technology and practices.
- Mature and reliable team member, who can work independently and as a team.
- Positive can-do attitude, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritise and stay focused.
