This role

As our Conversion (CRO) Designer, you'll be working with our Website CRO team and reporting directly to the CRO Manager. You will be instrumental in shaping the experimentation lifecycle across our website, converting insights and hypotheses into clear, high-converting design variants to drive growth and optimise the candidate/customer funnel.

Your key focus areas will be:

  • Driving high-velocity A/B testing variants and experiments across our homepage, landing pages, forms, and AI experiences.
  • Leveraging an AI-first workflow (using Claude) to rapidly prototype and turn briefs into working HTML in hours, maintaining speed without sacrificing craft or brand alignment.
  • Evolving our web kits and design system to build scalable, reusable patterns rather than one-off pages.
  • Partnering with developers, product marketing, SEO, paid media, and web teams to present visual rationale and elevate web design quality.

This will include the following:

  • Turn analytics, research, and hypotheses into conversion-focused test variants across layouts, CTAs, forms, pricing tables, and AI chat surfaces.
  • Utilise Claude and AI workflows to go rapidly from brief to clickable prototype or working HTML, acting as the critical editor to ensure output remains accessible and on-brand.
  • Explore ideas in Figma within our design system, utilising auto-layout, components, and variants to deliver clean specs for desktop and mobile.
  • Identify gaps in our design kit and contribute new, reusable, and documented components to push our systems-first approach forward.
  • Design full landing pages and high-quality new page templates when experimentation is not the right tool.
  • Raise the bar on web design quality by blending AI speed for ideation with human craft, typography, and detail for final polish.
  • Collaborate with the CRO analyst to review test results, heatmaps, and session recordings, documenting insights to double down on winning patterns.
  • Clearly communicate and present design rationale to marketing, product, and brand stakeholders, framing trade-offs around conversion and funnel impact.
  • Share early and often in a remote-first environment, working out loud and collaborating openly with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner closely with web developers on technical feasibility, performance, QA reviews, and experiment launch setups.

Who you are

To thrive at Employment Hero, you'll need to embody The EH Way – operating with focus, agility, and an obsession with impact. For this role, you'll also bring:

  • 2 to 4 years designing for the web, as a UI, web, product or digital designer, with live websites or landing pages in your portfolio.
  • A modern, AI-first toolkit (daily use of AI tools for research, prototyping, code editing, and self-critique, with Claude experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong conversion instincts and experimentation experience (A/B test variants, CRO team collaboration, and a solid grasp of hierarchy, trust, friction, and form design).
  • Systems and product thinking to design scalable, reusable patterns that consider the end-to-end user journey.
  • Built-in responsive and accessible design principles (mobile-first layouts, WCAG basics, and working knowledge of HTML/CSS).
  • High velocity without compromising craft, turning around solid variants in 1–2 days while applying meticulous final polish when needed.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management, presenting design rationale backed by evidence, taking feedback without ego, and pushing back constructively.
  • Design tool fluency, specifically Figma, auto-layout, component architecture, and navigating existing design systems (nice to have).
  • Technical proficiency in B2B SaaS/lead generation environments, including multi-step forms, demo requests, and HTML/CSS/JS prototyping or Claude Code (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms (Optimizely, VWO), analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar, Clarity), CRO frameworks (Speero, Baymard, Nielsen), and AI/conversational interface design (nice to have).
