AIM Site Hire Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Hand to join our team in Bayswater North, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in the daily operations of our hire yard. As a Yard Hand, you will be responsible for maintaining and preparing assets for hire, ensuring our yard operates efficiently and safely. This hands-on role is essential to supporting our operations and maintaining the high standards our clients expect from us.
Key responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect and identify any damage or maintenance requirements on assets returned from hire.
- Clean, service and maintain assets to ensure it meets re-hire, safety and operational standards.
- Move, load and unload assets around the yard and on trucks via forklift, handling items safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, stock takes and maintenance activities.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
- Keep the yard organised, clean and safe, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Support the team with ad-hoc tasks as required to maintain operational efficiency.
What we're looking for:
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, carrying and moving heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in a yard, warehouse or similar labour-intensive environment.
- Strong organisational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures and work in compliance with workplace regulations.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or willingness to learn equipment maintenance.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- White card (Construction Induction) and valid driver’s and forklift license are essential.
