Solicitor – AI-Powered Legal Practice

Solicitor – AI-Powered Legal Practice

Full-Time On-site
A

We're looking for a driven, commercially-minded solicitor who enjoys working with clients and helping grow the practice β€” with a supportive team and AI doing the heavy lifting behind them. You won't be on your own: the whole team pitches in, and we bring in work together. You'll build client relationships, run matters end-to-end, and help shape the platform itself β€” a rare chance to grow fast without waiting years in a partnership queue.

What you'll do

  • Help grow the practice: build client relationships and develop business, alongside the team and the leads we generate together. This is a genuinely client-facing role β€” you enjoy being in front of clients, not only hidden in the back office.
  • Run client matters end-to-end across our practice areas, using our AI platform to work faster β€” you provide the legal judgment, sign-off and accountability.
  • Work directly with the founder to improve the AI product: tell us what works, what doesn't, and where it needs to be sharper, so the platform keeps getting better at real legal work.
  • Keep on top of the law in your areas β€” legislation, court rules, standard forms β€” and make sure our work and our platform reflect it.

What we're looking for

Must have:

  • Admitted as an Australian lawyer with a current practising certificate, and 2–4 years' post-admission experience (PQE).
  • A genuinely client-facing, outgoing personality. You enjoy meeting people, building relationships and bringing in work β€” this role is as much about business development as it is about law. If you'd rather never speak to a client, it's not for you.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of: commercial leasing, employment law, debt recovery, or conveyancing. These areas are genuinely specialised β€” having actually practised in one or two of them matters more than a passing familiarity with all.
  • Open to working with AI. You don't need a tech background, but you should be genuinely willing to embrace an AI-driven way of working β€” it's central to how we practise.
  • Comfort with a fast-moving small team where you help decide what's next.

Strongly preferred:

  • A track record of business development, client relationships, or an existing network you can bring with you.
  • Experience at a small or suburban firm, where you're used to being close to clients and comfortable owning your matters. You'll have the team's support, but we value people who can take initiative.
  • We work across VIC, NSW and QLD, so experience in any of these jurisdictions is valuable β€” and practitioners from other states are welcome too.
  • Spoken Mandarin is a nice-to-have β€” some of our clients are bilingual (English/Mandarin) β€” but it's in no way required

What we offer

  • Competitive base of $95,000–$110,000 + super, plus a competitive performance-based incentive scheme β€” your business development is directly rewarded (details discussed at interview).
  • Real autonomy and growth: build your own book of clients with AI leverage behind you, rather than waiting years in a partnership queue.
  • Front-row seat to legal AI: help shape a product reshaping the profession, while it's still early.
  • Melbourne-based with hybrid flexibility, working closely with the founder.
