Love Shopify? Love building with AI? Come and build both, for real. The Ahara Group runs Australian healthy food brands including Macros, Soulara and vEEF. We cook fresh meals in our Castle Hill kitchen and deliver them nationally to subscribers. We’re an AI-first business. Our in-house operations platform, Rocket Kitchen, already runs live demand forecasting off real-time Shopify orders. Now we want someone to take it much further and own our whole e-commerce and subscription stack.
What you’ll do:
- Own and improve our Shopify stores and Recharge subscriptions across multiple brands: checkout, billing, failed payments, churn and retention.
- Build custom subscription and e-commerce platforms as we grow beyond off-the-shelf tools, and lead the migration of subscribers safely.
- Integrate AI across the business: demand forecasting and pricing, subscription management, agentic commerce through Claude and ChatGPT connectors.
- Connect everything: Shopify, Recharge, Rocket Kitchen, ERP, payments, email, logistics and marketing tools via APIs and webhooks.
- Launch new brand stores fast.
- Work with a small onshore and offshore team, and do most of the building yourself.
About you:
- Strong hands-on Shopify experience: themes, apps, Liquid, Admin and Storefront APIs, webhooks.
- Real experience with Recharge or another subscription billing platform.
- Comfortable building with Node/TypeScript or Python, REST/GraphQL APIs and SQL.
- You build with AI every day (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI) and have shipped AI features into production.
- You’ve migrated a store, platform or payments system and know what can go wrong.
- You’d rather ship this week than plan for a quarter.
- D2C, subscription, food or FMCG experience is a big plus.
- Real ownership. What you build goes live in days, not quarters.
- Your AI work runs a real kitchen floor and real customer inboxes.
