We are an established air conditioning company specialising in commercial sales and installations. As part of our continued growth and focus, we are looking for a HVAC Mechanical Draftsperson to start immediately.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the construction manager with various tasks.
- Performing clerical duties and maintaining contact with clients, subcontractors, and other parties involved through email and phone calls.
- Answering questions and preparing presentations.
- Entering project data.
- Reporting to the Construction Manager on the daily development of projects.
- Creating technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical equipment designs using measurements, specifications, and additional data.
- Combining all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and modification.
- Coordinating directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed.
- Communicating with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts prior to production and assist in designing.
- Providing support by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details.
- Assisting in ongoing projects to standardize and unify design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing presentation materials as necessary.
Skills:
- A strong grasp of mathematical concepts as well as attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Experience with HVAC drafting.
- Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and CADWorx.
- Excellent technical communication skills with engineers and manufacturing personnel.
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical abilities.
- Able to work within strict deadlines.
- Understanding of layout, design, fabrication, and installation of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of the Australian Building Codes.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities.
