Advance Recruitment Partners – Brisbane QLD
The opportunity
Are you an experienced advice support professional ready to take on greater responsibility and build towards a long‑term career as an adviser?
An established boutique financial advice practice in Brisbane is seeking an Associate Adviser to work directly alongside its principal adviser.
With an established client base and a new referral partnership supporting growth, this is an opportunity to become a valued part of a small team and contribute across the advice process.
The practice primarily supports pre‑retirees and retirees, with a growing number of younger clients.
Its approach centres on practical strategies that help clients manage their financial lives, covering superannuation, retirement planning, cash flow and Centrelink.
Your role
You will help the principal adviser prepare for client meetings, develop advice and maintain strong client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing for new client, review, implementation and ad hoc meetings.
- Gathering and checking client information to ensure the adviser has a clear, complete picture.
- Attending client meetings, preparing file notes and coordinating follow‑up actions.
- Completing calculations and financial modelling, including checking retirement and Centrelink outcomes.
- Preparing Records of Advice and Statement of Advice requests.
- Reviewing Statements of Advice prepared by external paraplanners.
- Acting as an additional point of contact for clients.
- Suggesting improvements to processes, systems and the client experience.
Your focus will be technical adviser support and client engagement.
An established administration function manages routine administration and implementation, with occasional leave cover required.
About you
You may already be working as an Associate Adviser, or bring a background in paraplanning or technically focused adviser support.
You will ideally have
- Around two to three years' relevant experience within financial advice.
- Working knowledge of Xplan, ideally including Wealth Solver and modelling tools.
- An understanding of superannuation, retirement strategies and Centrelink.
- Experience preparing advice requests, reviewing advice documents and maintaining accurate client records.
- The confidence to contribute in client meetings and communicate clearly with clients.
- A proactive, organised approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- A willingness to offer ideas and constructively challenge existing processes.
This will suit someone who enjoys a small, focused team environment and wants to build a lasting career within a practice.
- What's on offer
- $90,000-$100,000 plus super, depending on experience.
- Hybrid working, initially with one day working from home each week.
- Direct mentoring and regular exposure to client meetings and advice strategy.
- The opportunity to influence how the practice works as it grows.
- A potential pathway to your Professional Year, anticipated after an initial 12 months, with earlier commencement considered depending on readiness and business needs.
- A longer‑term opportunity to explore acquiring a portion of the client base and building your own business within the practice, subject to suitability and an agreed arrangement.
- A flexible start date for the right candidate.
The initial focus is on becoming a capable and trusted Associate Adviser.
For someone with the ambition to progress into advice and eventually business ownership, there is scope for a broader career conversation.
