We're looking for a motivated and reliable Concrete Batcher to join the team at Swan Materials. This is a varied, hands-on operational role where no two days are the same. You'll spend most of your day operating the batching system, coordinating deliveries with drivers and ensuring our customers receive exceptional service. When batching is quieter, you'll also pitch in around the plant with stock checks, housekeeping and general site support to help keep operations running smoothly. This is more than a traditional batching role - you'll also be the first point of contact for customers, taking orders over the phone and managing enquiries throughout the day. Strong phone-based customer service skills are essential, as you'll be speaking with customers, drivers and suppliers daily while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking customer orders and enquiries via phone and entering them into the batching system
  • Operating the concrete batching system to produce quality concrete safely and efficiently
  • Coordinating agitator drivers and delivery schedules throughout the day
  • Providing customers with delivery updates and managing changes to orders
  • Monitoring raw material stock levels and ordering materials and additives as required
  • Completing daily stock checks and supporting plant operations
  • Assisting with general yard duties, housekeeping and site maintenance when required
  • Supporting safe site operations and ensuring compliance with company procedures
  • Operating a front-end loader on occasion to support site operations (when required)

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who can confidently manage a busy operation, communicate well with customers and drivers, and remain calm under pressure.

Essential:

  • Previous concrete batching experience (Command experience highly regarded)
  • Strong phone-based customer service experience and confidence dealing with customers
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to assist wherever needed
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork

Desirable:

  • Front-end loader ticket or experience
  • Dispatch, scheduling or logistics coordination experience
  • Forklift licence

Benefits:

  • Join Adbri, an iconic Australian company - established in 1882, with 200+ plants, 8 brands and 5 joint ventures supplying essential construction materials nationwide!
  • Structured learning and development pathways with real career progression opportunities
  • Generous discounts including retail, fuel, car rental, Qantas Club and exclusive savings on Adbri products
  • Extra leave options such as purchased leave, parental leave and volunteer leave
  • Wellbeing support through our confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Service awards and recognition celebrating your contribution and milestones
