Quality & Reliability Technician | Road Safety Technology | Ingleburn, NSW

Acusensus is an organisation founded with a simple but compelling belief, that nobody should die on our roads.

We build the technology that detects the Fatal Five dangerous driving behaviours β€” speeding, mobile phone use, seatbelt non-compliance, fatigue, and drug or alcohol impairment β€” and supports the enforcement programs that change them.

We delivered the world's first mobile phone detection program in New South Wales and the world's first automated mobile device and seatbelt program in Queensland.

Today we run 18 long-term contracts across 14 jurisdictions on four continents, working with governments, road authorities and police services to help reduce road trauma.

About the role

You are the link between engineering design and operational reality.

You identify problems early in the factory, and resolve those that occur in the field.

Ensure every unit we ship works seamlessly in the field from day one.

As our Quality & Reliability Technician, you will test and inspect our products before they leave manufacturing.

You will systematically turn field faults into fixes, ensuring technical issues never compromise customer satisfaction or ongoing product reliability.

What you'll do

  • Lead factory acceptance testing so all products meet our safety and operational standards before it ships.
  • Test and implement new mechanical and electrical designs, train staff, and manage the rollout from HQ to regional depots.
  • Create and maintain QC inspection checklists for mobile units, trailers and fixed-site infrastructure.
  • Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to find and fix build issues during assembly.
  • Troubleshoot recurring field issues and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Work with field operators and data analysis teams to improve system uptime and data quality, ensuring we meet client SLAs.
  • Turn field issues and user feedback into clear insights, logging compliance records and data in our service management platform in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.

About you

You have a sharp eye for detail and catch small mechanical, electrical or software non-conformances before they reach the road.

You can hold a quality standard while working with engineers, manufacturers and field teams, and you excel at turning vague complaints into problems that can be measured and solved.

  • You’ll bring
  • An advanced trade qualification or diploma in Electronics, Electrotechnology, Mechatronics, or a directly relevant technical discipline.
  • 3+ years in QA, technical assembly, or systems testing for complex electromechanical hardware.
  • Proficiency with standard mechanical and electrical hand tools.
  • The ability to read schematics, use diagnostic equipment, and troubleshoot IP-based cameras, electromechanical and power systems.
  • Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and quality tracking software to log data and track metrics.
  • Willingness to complete police and driving history checks.

Benefits

  • Work that saves lives. The hardware you sign off helps governments and police services detect dangerous driving behaviours and reduce road trauma.
  • Frontline authority on quality.

You are the quality voice for every solution moving from manufacturing into active field service, from mobile units and trailers to fixed-site infrastructure.

  • Bridge between design and the field.

You work with manufacturing, engineering, field operators and data teams, and your findings shape how future products are designed and serviced.

Acusensus is building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to drive positive change.

We're committed to fostering an environment where creativity and authenticity are celebrated.

No matter your background, if you're passionate about making a difference, we encourage you to apply.
