Active Kids Early Learning Centre - Churchill QLD is looking for a passionate caring chef to join our team for a maternity leave cover position. As our Part-Time Cook, you will work alongside our Chef until they depart for maternity leave to support daily food preparation and cooking, prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day, and cater to a range of dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances. This is a 7-month maternity leave cover.
Key responsibilities:
- Support with daily food preparation and cooking
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day
- Cater to a range of dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances
- Follow safe food handling, hygiene and food safety practices
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
- Assist with menu preparation and meal planning
- Ensure meals are prepared safely and appropriately for different age groups
- Communicate effectively with educators and management regarding dietary requirements
- Contribute to creating positive and enjoyable mealtimes for our children
About you:
- Has a genuine passion for cooking and preparing nutritious meals
- Has knowledge and understanding of safe food handling and food safety practices
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Works well as part of a supportive team

- Experience in food preparation and cooking

- Current Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one
