Director, Business Intelligence and Banking Operations Full-time Permanent

Details: Lead the Data. Safeguard the cash. Shape the Future.

Have you ever looked at a bank reconciliation and thought, "This could be better"?

Can you translate transactional data, bank account information, work a banking relationship at the transactional level, deal with expectations, survive audit scrutiny with your sense of humour still intact, and also manage the impacts of whole-of-government priorities.

If so, congratulations. We have been looking for you.

Shared Services Finance is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director to lead our business intelligence and banking operations functions. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership with operational impact, driving how the Territory manages and uses financial information while ensuring the secure and effective operation of its banking operations activities.

The role matters because every payment, receipt, reconciliation, dashboard and performance insight contributes to the effective stewardship of public resources.

What we are looking for.

A confident and authentic leader who brings:

  • Significant expertise in leading business intelligence, banking operations or financial operations within a complex public or private sector environment.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and strategic capabilities.
  • Experience leading organisational transformation and service modernisation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline would be highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid Australian work visa.
  • An ACT Government CMTEDD Baseline Security Clearance is required for this position.
  • This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Note: A Merit Pool may be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

Please note, this position is in a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
