ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications fromhighly motivated, experienced and suitable individuals to join Offender Reintegration as an Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) Case Manager (ASO6).

AMC Case Managers are responsible for providing ‘end-to-end’ integrated management for people in custody, through the development and review of case management strategies and processes, to ensure the provision of timely and high-quality interventions for detainees.

As a Case Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of individualised case management plans aimed at changing anti-social behaviours and overcoming relevant social exclusion factors.

Additionally, the role aims to promote detainee ‘release readiness’ through the use of appropriate resources, support services, and interventions.

Further to this, you will provide professional advice and services as required, including written reports to the Courts, releasing authorities and other statutory bodies, in relation to offender management, risk and intervention outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to build and maintain respectful and collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, community supports and external service providers.

You will also possess strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing work priorities, exercise sound judgement, remain resilient and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex and challenging environment.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.

We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

In addition, reasonable adjustments can be made.

Eligibility/Other Requirements

  • Experience working with detainees and relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Background police checks will be conducted.
  • Driver’s licence is essential.
  • This position requires a pre-employment medical.
  • To be eligible for employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS), applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid work visa.

Employment will cease if work rights are no longer held.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
