We're excited to welcome an Assistant Accountant to our Support Hub team. In this important role, you'll contribute to the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of Act for Kids by supporting a broad range of accounting, payroll and financial administration functions. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you'll help ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls and support informed decision-making across the organisation. Flexibility working hybrid from our Milton office and from home. Full-time, parental leave backfill contract until 31 December 2027. Negotiated salary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support financial excellence by assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations and the preparation of accurate financial information.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial processing across payroll, accounts receivable, corporate cards and related transactions.
- Maintain strong financial controls through asset management, record keeping, audit readiness and compliance with organisational procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting financial systems, processes and initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
About You:
- Tertiary accounting qualification.
- At least one (1) years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience in using accounting systems, and current knowledge of accounting standards, principles and practice.
- Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).
