The Opportunity
The role suits someone with extensive piling experience and strong leadership. The Senior Project Engineer ensures the effective coordination and control of engineering works for a designated project through technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on ACCIONA standards. The Senior Project Engineer assists the Construction Manager to ensure safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the project is delivered to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
- Identify and assess risk to the project as well as implement strategies to mitigate risk
- Use your technical skills to resolve design challenges and identify value engineering opportunities
- Cost and forecast control to assist project managers with strategic planning
- Lead, develop and manage large project teams on the ground
- Build effective and collaborative relationships to coordinate activities with supervisors
- Maintain quality, environmental, and safety systems across the project
- Provide positive leadership to subcontractors, monitor and control their performance to ensure the quality and standard of workmanship performed both on and off site is in accordance with the specifications and relevant procedures
- Manage construction budgets to allow accurate profit/loss forecasting and monitor the financial performance for certain aspects of the project
Required Skills and Competencies
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar
- 6 years' experience in a project/delivery-based role
- Experience leading high performing teams
- Demonstrated strong forecasting and budgeting experience
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules
