- Project Information
The Tangkam battery energy storage system (BESS) project sits about 30km northwest of Toowoomba, Queensland.
This new 100MW, 2 hour (200MWh) facility will connect to the grid through an existing Powerlink substation.
Once operational, it will store surplus daytime energy for evening peak demand and support grid stability, replacing inertia traditionally provided by coal and gas power plants.
