Position Vacant – Material Recycling Facility Leading Hand PART-TIME Position Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council is inviting applications for the position of Material Recycling Facility (MRF) Leading Hand . This full-time position plays an important role in overseeing the daily operations of Cherbourg's Material Recycling Facility, ensuring recycling activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with workplace procedures. Reporting to the Material Recycling Facility Manager, the successful applicant will help coordinate staff, oversee machinery operations, monitor workplace safety and maintain the smooth running of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily recycling operations, including sorting, baling, stockpiling and loading materials.
- Ensure staff are in place and machinery safety checks are completed before operations begin.
- Monitor workplace health and safety requirements and correct use of protective equipment.
- Oversee machinery maintenance schedules and general housekeeping.
- Maintain records, truck documentation and operational reports.
- Assist with site inductions for new employees and contractors.
- Provide regular reports to the Material Recycling Facility Manager.
- Support a positive, safe and productive team environment.

- Current Open Queensland C Class Driver Licence. An MR or HR Driver Licence, forklift ticket or other relevant plant operating qualifications would be highly regarded.
