The Role

Drive time is when people head home and, and we want you steering the show that goes with them. We’re looking for a Content Maker – Producer to produce the statewide Drive program, a show that connects the Riverland to the Eyre Peninsula, the South East to the Flinders Ranges, and the Far West all the way out to Broken Hill.

You’ll be the engine room of the studio: shaping the show’s content, booking and prepping guests, running talkback, and working alongside the presenter to make sure every afternoon sounds alive, local and unmissable. You’ll also get out into the community to find the stories that deserve to be heard.

This role is built around Drive, but we’re a collaborative team. You may be asked to work on other programs as required.

The Job

  • Produce programs for ABC Radio Regional and create distinctive, compelling content that engages local audiences
  • Provide in-studio production support and manage talkback callers and guests
  • Contribute to the Local Emergency Coverage plan and communicate with relevant stakeholders as required
  • Create local content that can be shared with other content teams across the ABC
  • Cross-promote other ABC content to build audience engagement
  • Engage with communities to find and tell stories that reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of Australia
