The Role

This is an ideal next step for a hands-on SHEQ Advisor looking to broaden their experience in a growing engineering group.

Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, you will work closely with Group and business leaders across multiple entities and support teams operating across industrial engineering, electrical services, asset reliability and manufacturing environments.

With mentoring and support, you will strengthen your safety and quality expertise while developing your broader generalist capability.

Based in Brisbane, you will provide practical safety and quality support across the Group.

You will be primarily based at our Northgate site, where most of our people work, with travel to other metro and regional sites as required.

  • What you’ll do
  • Coach crews and supervisors to apply Group safety and quality requirements consistently in day-to-day work.
  • Conduct floor walks and work observations, providing practical guidance and raising issues for follow-up.
  • Record and follow through on incidents, hazards and near misses, support investigations and help drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Maintain Integrated Management System documentation and support audit readiness for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and HR to support employee and subcontractor inductions and training, identify gaps and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Prepare routine monthly SHEQ statistics and reporting.
  • Provide SHEQ input into tenders, contracts and quotations when requested.
  • Develop practical resources, tools and documentation that make compliance easier for operational teams.
  • What you’ll bring
  • You bring hands-on experience from a SHEQ, field-based or trade-based role in an industrial, electrical, manufacturing or similar operational environment.
  • You are confident building constructive relationships with crews, supervisors, contractors and senior leaders.

  • You are credible in the field - practical, respectful and confident helping others meet agreed safety and quality standards.
  • You take ownership, improve procedures and focus on controls that make a practical difference.
  • You are adaptable, calm under pressure and able to build trusted relationships across different sites and businesses.
  • You are comfortable using digital tools and open to new technology that improves the way work is done.
