Practice Manager

Lead an established practice and play a key role in its continued success. 1300SMILES Douglas is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead our team, drive practice performance and create a positive environment for both patients and employees. Located on the James Cook University campus, just minutes from Townsville University Hospital, our practice serves a diverse community of students, healthcare professionals, families and long-term patients. You'll join an established practice with an experienced clinical team and play an important role in its continued growth and success.

As Practice Manager, you will:

• Lead, coach and develop the practice team, building a positive and accountable culture
• Take ownership of day-to-day operations and overall practice performance
• Work closely with clinicians to maintain efficient workflows and high standards of patient care
• Monitor practice performance and identify opportunities to improve growth, efficiency and patient engagement
• Drive initiatives that enhance the patient journey from their first interaction through to treatment completion
• Oversee administrative, compliance and operational requirements
• Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management and ongoing team development
• Build strong relationships across the practice and lead by example

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous Practice Management experience within a dental or healthcare setting
• Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of coaching and developing teams
• A solid understanding of dental practice operations, KPIs and financial performance
• The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into action
• Excellent organisational skills and confidence managing competing priorities
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clinicians, patients and support teams
• Strong computer skills, with experience using dental practice management software considered highly desirable
• A genuine commitment to creating a positive experience for both patients and the team
